DEWA launches leadership programmes in cooperation with Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University
Dubai, UAE, December 26th 2016 – Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced its collaboration with Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), to develop two leadership programmes called ‘Frontiers Programme’ and the ‘Future Leadership Development Programme’. This adheres to the directives of the wise leadership, as part of DEWA’s commitment to integrate Emiratis into different positions, and develop their abilities for the future.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, commended the ongoing and intensive efforts of HBMSU, to spread the concept of smart learning, and instil a culture of innovation and excellence in research, while sharing skills, experience, and practices, with regional and international universities.
This reflects the importance of collaborating with world class institutions and universities, to develop professionalism, excellence, and leadership.

DEWA trains and develops UAE citizens to take responsibility of different leadership positions.

This supports the mutual objective to support comprehensive growth. The MoU aims to intensify joint efforts to enhance the creative skills of young people and motivate them to innovate. This supports the national efforts to achieve the goals of the Dubai Innovation Strategy to make Dubai the most innovative city in the world,” said Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA.
The leadership programmes provided by HBMSU will contribute to DEWA’s efforts to promote the capabilities of its staff. These programmes are based on smart, innovative, and flexible methodologies that are different from the traditional ways of teaching. This ensures that DEWA’s staff keep pace with the rapid developments spurred by the digital era.
